Jaylene Cantrell - Owner, Program Developer and Trainer
I was born in Oklahoma, moved to California as a toddler and then here to Colorado at the age of 8 - calling it home ever since. I have been in or around water for as long as I can remember. I participated in swim team from an early age and swam competitively year around all through high school, qualifying for the state swim meet all four years. My favorite events were 100 Butterfly, 500 freestyle, the 1650 (the mile) and the 50 Butterfly leg of the Medley Relay. I began teaching swimming lessons when I was 16 and have coached at both the recreational and competitive levels. I have always enjoyed watching children develop and learn - my favorite part is the pride they display when they master new skills. I am a certified Swim America Program Director and a certified Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor. I have over a decade of experience in training lifeguards and swimming lesson instructors and over two decades of experience teaching swimming lessons. I have a Bachelor's from Colorado State University in Human Development with an emphasis in infancy and early childhood as well as a Colorado K-6 Teaching License from Metropolitan State College of Denver. I have owned a swimming pool management and maintenance company since 1999. In my spare time I enjoy traveling - usually to a warm destination with an ocean, reading, trying new restaurants and spending time with family and friends. I have two small boys - both who love the water as much as their mom! I have worked in the aquatics industry in one form of another since 1990 and am very excited to be offering our state-of-the-art learn to swim program to your family!
